Tamil Nadu Govt. signs MOU with Hapag Lloys for INR 2500 Crore to develop Container Terminals and Logistics Parks

Tamil Nadu government has signed MoU with Hapag-Lloyd, German container shipping company which will make a substantial investment of INR 2,500 crore towards the development of container terminals and logistics parks in Thoothukudi and other regions within the state. The signed agreement is anticipated to generate employment opportunities for 1,000 individuals, as per the official release.

This investment is expected to provide employment to 1,000 people. The pact was signed in the presence of CM MK Stalin and Industries Minister TRB Rajaa who are in Spain.

Recognizing the pivotal role of efficient freight transport in the widespread industrial development of Tamil Nadu, the government is undertaking initiatives to enhance infrastructure, including the establishment of container ports and logistics parks at the state’s four major ports.
